My SJ kept cutting out, when i was in the middle of nowhere. Turned out one of the blanking bungs had fallen off the carb. Only thing i had to hand to fill the hole was a pencil. Yeah it will be covered by a fuse. There is also a bulb in the back of it that can be replaced.

There's a few tweaks that you can do to them to make them work perfectly. I have had the same pads for a few years now and it holds really well.
