No believe or not the siren is also the brain so a large loom comes from their. Did think possibly bad earth struggling though that have had no issue untill today

I have the same problem on my 2lt gv. Although I can't see it having a earth problem through the clutch cable as they are hydraulic. From experience the rattle isn't much to write home about when it starts to go. Plus after the engine has warmed up a little you can't distinguish it. There is no service interval for the timing chain just regular oil changes with the correct oil. And the chain should outlast the car.

We'll I dug out my old surround and had a measure 183mmx102mm seems that most dd units are 170mm wish x100mm so I think it probably would fit.

have been toying with the idea for a couple of years of fitting a double din DVD/GPS unit in the space left when you remove the radio clock and pocket from the Mk 1 dash. Hi yes there are manuals for free on the internet search for SQ416 they should be in two parts and there is a supplement part for the canvas top model. Part 2 covers the different engines G16 J20 and the H25. The manual will cover the mk 1 GV
