Re: Ignition problem
It is just a thought, but I have had strange electrical experiances with my SJ. Try replacing the Fuseable link with a new piece of wire or as I did a jumbo 45Amp fuse. It all started when I Changed the battery and must of disturbed the link I found although I was getting 12v where I was supposed to...

Re: can you replace this stuff
Yep mine came off in sheets along with most of the floor pan. I found that i did get a bit of floor drumming when I had replaced it with new metal. Mine you over the noise the rest of the Zuk makes it was hardly noticable. But the better half complained so I stuck wide bitumin flashing tape to the f...

Re: adding an ammeter
Ah Spotlights now it all becomes clearer. Depending on what wattage your spotlights are you can probably get away with running a supply from battery throught a fuse to a switch then two the lights 55w Spots will only Produce 8 ish amps so the switch you use should be 10 amps and will be ok. If how e...

Re: adding an ammeter
i got some oven cable for the wiring: That should be right for the size of cable 6mm sq (for info the cable size is calculated from the cross sectional area of each single copper core x the ammount of cores). when you say your head lights are wired direct to the battery do you still have side/headl...

Re: adding an ammeter
I'd think you would either just earth it to some bodywork... or straight to the battery Never earth an ameter!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! A ammeter is designed to go in serise to measure the amps in a circuit Looking at the amp guage you have there it seems that it is going to show whether the batter...

Re: filling gearbox oil
I guess it's to make sure you don't accidentally drain the gearbox oil onto your face while trying to top it up ;) Its quite a tight squeeze between the trany box and the gearbox. First time i did it i used those stupid little bottles of gear oil from halfords they where a bugger to put the oil in ...
