Re: testing

Yep, the regulator in the alternator is not regulating very well anymore and is frying your battery.

You may end up having to buy a new battery too but you might have got awaywith it!

Re: help!!!....overheating!!

Hi there, How much past the half way mark does it go? Most run just over the half way mark by about a needle's width or so. I agree you want to ensure that you are not running too lean though. I'm not too sure that the temperature guage sender unit or the guage may be that acurate now days due to th...

Re: OIL IN THE AIR BOX

I would be saying as per zukipilot, inoperative positive crankcase ventilation valve or blocked breathers.

Re: Vitara 1600 into SJ410

Was it a simple drop it in with the converstion plate being used on the 1300 box? And can you use all of the 410 props? I have thought about this converstion but have only read about the conversion from a 413 to 1600 Vitara. The only thought I had though was whether or not it will be too much torque...

Re: SJ fuel Pump

I've not known our to lak but in John Richardson's book about modifying and buying suzuki's he warns of this as a problem on SJ's. They are about £30.00 new and can be obtained from Nippart suppliers and Eurocarparts supplied ours.

That looks cool, we've been through some muddy bits before but never managed to get it as muddy as you have there! Good effort!

Don't think I'll try to copy your diving in the mud bit though, I guess you don't do your own washing?

Re: Buying new tyres

I agree, we've got Colway MT's at the moment and they are good and seem to not be wearing out, so although it may be some time away, I think our next set of rubber rings will be Recip Trials - Our friend's vehicle came with them on and they really do work well in the mud. Although they've not been a...

Re: Random Imobalisation

Hi there, I did this recently and it makes a big difference. If you pay a few pennies more and get a relay from Halfords they have a diagram on the back telling you which pins do what, or any motor factors can tell you. In effect, all you are doing is taking the strain off the wiring from the igniti...

Re: Still Rust

Hi there, If it's not in too difficult place to weld or near the fuel tank it might not be too expensive to get a local welder to weld a patch on it for you. Pop down to a local auto welder and if it's more than £40 they're taking the mickey. You could spend half this in bits to lash it up temporari...
