Re: Hi from Pakistan... (And a few questions)

Not sure about the tire size. But what you've said makes sense. I'll be around mostly hills and some mud most probably. And it will be a daily runner too so welded diff is out of the equation. What could be the options for widening the track? Two that I've seen are wheel spacers and 413/Sammy (?) ax...

Re: SJ's in action

Hi all,

hope this is not a threadjack, but some of the SJs in this thread appear totally stock, little or no lift, no snorkels, not even M/T tires, only the "street" tires. I'm wondering how well such stockish SJ fare off road?? :er:

Re: Hi from Pakistan... (And a few questions)

Hi all, Thinking and reading about the "basic" set of mods I talked about earlier, here is what I think should be enough for me for the time being: 1) bigger A/T (or M/T ? ) tires, 2) Spring-Over-Axle conversion, 3) And eventually, a "budget" diff lock like the PowerTrax Lockrigh...

Re: Hi from Pakistan... (And a few questions)

Parts availability is absolutely no problem, you can find parts for the locally available budget suzuki vehicles in absolutely every corner of the country. I dunno if I should say it here on this forum, but the SJ is absolutely hated here in Pakistan!! Why? because people think of it as a useless DO...

Re: Hi from Pakistan... (And a few questions)

Ok now, I've been reading about things to look out for when buying an SJ, things like rust, whining transmission/transfer case etc. What other things you guys think need extra attention when buying one of these? Things most prone to damage previous owner's misuse/neglect, things that in your experie...

Re: Hi from Pakistan... (And a few questions)

Thanks twiss and Dan, that was quite quick and helpful... No problems with the insurance over here since it's not required by the authorities, so getting your car insured is totally up to you. Roads are usually ok, but you never know when you'll be hitting a road as bumpy and pot-holed as a beginner...

Hi from Pakistan... (And a few questions)

Hi all, signing in from all the way from Pakistan... I've been a fan of the SJ for quite some time and saving to buy one for some time now. We have only the hard-top, high-roof SJ410, called Potohar, in the Pakistani market; 413's (Samurai/Santana, soft-tops etc. are usually hard to find). I have AL...
