Re: five speed gear box from a SJ410
As a matter of interest the numbers on that box are: CA 24771 - 80400 on the extension and 24711 - 80400 on the box. Looking at it the dimensions they all look the same as my 1988 E reg but wasn't sure about the 1st motion shafts length and box to engine spacer plate width. Thanks you for your help....

Re: 410 Gearboxes, differences and 4 to 5 speed conversions
I acquired sometime ago a SJ410 "F" (reg), (a special edition of some sort). The body was scrapped but I keep various bits to keep my Jap 1988 "E" reg going. That special edition SJ410 had a five speed box in it. It has a part number on the gear box of: CA 24771-80400. I am not s...

Jimny handbrake warning light stays on
Handbrake / Brake Fluid reservoir warning light stays on . Provided you have checked that the handbrake switch is clear of fluff and the brake fluid reservoir level is correct (non ABS models) - that problem of the handbrake warning light staying on after start up and release of the handbrake is du...

Re: Road Spring poly bushes (Avoid REDS)
Hi Highlander. The point of this post was to alert members to the possiblity that all road spring poly bushes are not the same although they purport to be. These Red & Orange bushes pictured came from a supplier of road springs for SJ's and they hadn't noticed the difference in collar sizes betw...

Road Spring poly bushes (Avoid REDS)
Road Spring poly bushes
Avoid the RED ones (they have thinner shoulders and allow the spring to slop about in the spring hangers)
Use the ORANGE ones (see pictures attached)

Re: SU Carbs
That's SU HS2 (it has two vertical bolt holes and a 1.25" tube just like the SJ410) it will fit onto the SJ410 and is a smaller carb than the HS4 or HIF38. You need to make up a plate with 1.25" hole two vertical holes where the SU bolts on the two more to line up with the SJ's bolt holes....

Re: Changing Springs
When replacing the old or perished rubber bushes on the road springs. BEWARE the RED poly bushes (see picture).
The RED's allow the spring to slop about on the hangers.
Use the ORANGE ONES as the orange ones keep everthing tight.

Re: 410 Dash In Samurai
Pictures of Rhino Special 87/175 made. It's greyish as they all were but I the colour balance on my phone in the rain makes it look blueish (the wall behind it is terracotta). It has all of the switches + choke, bonnet and heater cables attached. The medallion on the dash says 87 of 175 made. There ...

Re: Soft aftermarket rear springs
I bought my SJ new "E" and its done 260,000+ miles so I have changed most things over the years. These are the second set of springs I've fitted but I got caught over the Swedish set of springs. UKA charged £88.80 each + VAT which included setting the correct curve on the springs. The UKA ...
