Job done! Thanks to all those who helped. One thing though, the prop shafts (g/box to tfr box) are different. The yoke on the 1986 car has a more squared end and it fouls one the gearbox when the 1991 transfer box is fitted. No problems though as I swapped the shafts as well. Now all I need to do is...

Thanks for the info on the shim. However, both my boxes appear to have a shim fitted (see photos) I've tried the hand brake assemble on the 'new' box and the prop shaft connector on the old box and they seem to swap without problems......will this be ok? Hopefully you can see they're the same. P.S. ...

Wow!! IT doesn't take long to get the answers here. Thanks for the info, especially about the shim, I don't think I would have noticed that.

Firstly thanks for reading this. I have a 1986 SJ413 with a very noisy transfer box, I changed the oil yesterday and it's full of aluminium dust/shavings. This box has the hand brake on the back of the box. I also have another 1991 SJ413 with the hand brake on the wheels. Is it possible to swap tran...
