Re: Gearbox Rebuilding
Thanks for the offer Mike, but I’ve already purchased the gearbox. The guy said he is happy with keeping the gearbox for a few weeks until I can pick it up. However I’m going for the 'Rolling Rebuild' idea, where I buy a part, refurbish it then fit it. So I’ll keep you in mind when i need a parts in...

Re: Gearbox Rebuilding
I'm starting to get really annoyed. My 5 speed box seems to do nothing but whine and not go into fifth or reverse 80% of the time! I might risk it by driving 400+ miles to go get it. The question is, will the Zuk's current gearbox survive 400 odd miles doing 60 (ok, a bit optimistic, maybe 50) on mo...

Re: Painting
Thanks guys, is the roller texture / orange peel noticeable from a few feet away, or do you have to stick your nose against it to see it?
Do you think it would be as noticeable with Matt paint? I'm going for Matt Nato Green.

I would think that 5 litres should be plenty?
Thanks

Painting
So, soon i'll be repainting my SJ. But i haven't got a big enough garrage to spray, so i'm going for the hand painting. I know this sounds like a stupid question, but how do you hand paint? With a brush or a roller? Any tips or tricks that i need to keep in mind when i'm painting? Many Thanks Huw Jo...

Re: Pickup Conversion, using pieces of a Hard top shell.
http://forum.suzukiclubuk.co.uk/viewtopic.php?f=22&t=5924 That's not the one I’ve seen. To be honest I’m not sure if I saw it on here or on another site. Although, by the sound of things, I might end up doing it that way! The back of the cab is currently just screwed onto the B hoop. The seats ...

Gearbox Rebuilding
Right then, I took the plunge and spent a whooping £45 for a 5 speed box for my SJ. The only catch is, i won't have it until August at the latest! On the Ffestiniog Railway, we have a extremely huge volunteer workforce from literally all over the world, Australia, Germany, Czech Republic, Holland, U...

Re: Pickup Conversion, using pieces of a Hard top shell.
I've seen a build thread somewhere of someone doing a pick up conversion in the way I described. It was a white SJ 410 soft top being merged with bits from a yellow hard top. I can't for my life find the bloody thing! I think I might just pop rivet / weld a sheet of 2mm steel / aluminium on to the b...
