Re: Transfer box input oil seal sj410 1986
Thanks for the info If I understand correctly the only difficult bit is getting the nut holding the flange on off, so is there enough room lying under the sj to get to the input prop shaft area and get angry with the nut, I don't have access to air tools so brute force will be needed. I can see that...

Transfer box input oil seal sj410 1986
Hi guys Pretty sure I have a leak from the t/box front input oil seal, not surprised as the sj had been hardly used for many years and this seal is above stationery oil level so probably brittle now, only leaks when actually in motion. Can't actually see the leak but but seems the only possible sour...

Re: Fuel tank breather , how does it work ? sj410 1986
Quick update. Checked this morning, found breather tube behind rear number plate, blowing through tube with bit of force all is clear, there is a valve in there somewhere as needs a little force, sucking on tube closes valve. So outcome is that it is normal for there to be a little vacuum in the tan...

Re: Seat belts & the MOT
What ever you do do NOT bother with the really cheap belts on ebay, they are a joke with a bit of tin on each end, I can not believe they are allowed to sell them as seat belts would not trust the fittings with my worst enemy ( well maybe). 2nd vote for securon belts much better quality and fittings...

Re: Fuel tank breather , how does it work ? sj410 1986

Fuel tank breather , how does it work ? sj410 1986
hi all My fuel tank is always under vacuum with engine running and holds a vacuum when stopped. Guess this is wrong and breather blocked somewhere, but where and how does the breather work, is it in the locking fuel cap ? If so how does it work and best way to clean it . Is there a tube somewhere un...

1st outing, quick thanks to those that helped.
As said above, big thanks for all the info and help so far, more q's to come. As said before I bought an SJ for winter snow driving around hills where I live, was not expecting such a good condition bodywise and seems a shame now to be using all through the winter, have done a good inspection undern...
