Re: SJ 410, so I've started on cambelt and waterpump
Time for a bit of feedback. Remember this is a SJ 410 970cc engine. THIS IS NOT AS PER MANUAL. Getting to the cam belt is pretty straightforward, ignoring probs with bottom rad hose. The bottom crank pulley needs to come of as I descibed above. Press on right hand side of OLD belt to get a feel for ...

Re: SJ 410, so I've started on cambelt and waterpump
Help, just been reading the lj80 manual about cam belt removal and tensioning ( definetly the same tension set up as SJ410 ), seems far more complicated than expected and unfortunatly the pics in scanned manual are not quite readable to understand what they mean Help. Talk off moving lower pulley to...

SJ 410, so I've started on cambelt and waterpump
Hi all started on changing the above and feeling brave, done some reading and in we go. Always a bit worried when I have not got a manual. Have to say was surprisingly easy to get to the cambelt, the bottom crankshaft pulley bolt came undone as follows: handbrake on and in 4th gear ( thanks for the ...

Re: sj 410 new springs needed, opinions welcome
Any opinion on the rears, last legs or not ? Yesterday spoke to an Italian popular supplier about springs. He said that multi leaf springs are cheaper but harder cos made of inferior steel but also that they have had made single leaf springs out of better grade steel that give a softer ride more sui...

Re: SJ 410 tin top rear seat belts
Thanks again Windsor. Going by your pic just what the doctor ordered. that mounting point or rear wheel arch, I have not got one, any chance of photo under the carpet. Guess there must be some sort of plate inside and one under wheel arch. Could you have a look to see how done as that point is not n...

Re: SJ 410 tin top rear seat belts
Just had a look in my 1986 jap built user manual, talks about optional 3 point non retractor ( non inertia ) rear seat belts. So was an option that not many took up in 1986. To me looks like on mine should be able to fit inertia reel belts at back just need to see pics of the two floor mounting poin...
