As my fuel gauge is lying to me i thought i would use a thin stick to dip the tank to see the level but i was surprised to find i could not push the stick into the neck as there is a obstruction about 4 to 5 inches down ..is this a anti syphon measure to stop people nicking g fuel......pushing the s...

To remove the starter on this vehicle ...what is involved does the generator have to be taken off ???? does it drop down below or lifted up out the engine bay ???? My workmate said all the seats have got to be taken out....but then again he smokes funny cigarettes .... Jim

They are usually really easy to fix, i sorted mine a few years ago and it's been fine ever since, so worth trying before spending any money. only takes around an hour, if that to drop the tank, fix it and re-fit. At the risk of being a pain ...has anyone any thoughts on this .....as my sender is playing up in the tank i thought i might fill the tank right to the top just up to the filler cap so the variable resistor on the sender is immersed in the fuel ...i have added quite a bit of Redex hoping the cleanin...

Well removed all the stuck down carpet and you guessed it no panels to remove......
ages putting it all back together..........so its going to be tank out at sometime on the anus
when fuel is much lower.........

The continuing story ......just removed most of the rear carpet and there appears to be a panel above fuel tank ..its not bolted down but looks as if there is a black bituminous compound around the outside Could this be a access panel to the fuel gauge SENDER ? should i try to prise this panel up it...
