Thanks Jay 18, Another friend of mine suggested an XL7. My van is quite similar in size to the one immediately to the left of yours in the photo of the line up.

Hi Cottie J, Am not sure. I know it that is is a petrol engine in keeping with the original, Over time he has changed over quite a lot of bits, diffs, gearbox ratios etc to make it climb. It is the 2wd version not the 4x4. He has marched it off home to Gibralter now for the time being, but in terms ...

Thanks for the help chaps. I have been down in Cornwall for a week and a bit, on and off, checking out possible hills for the 2016/17 Lands End Trial. It seems that I may have to return to the fold once again. Having been a 4x4 owner for more than 25 years, I may soon require a smaller bodied 4x4 which is also capable of towing.
