That's cool... I will stick with the original carb and put and air box on.

Painting over Bitumen
Hi.. sorry to start another thread on a similar subject.... but can you paint over the Bitumen on the floors? I am thinking, stone chip, truck bed liner or more Bitumen... I am going to put felt and rubber down so it's just for rust protection really.

Re: Painting the floor
I am thinking now I might buy some insulation felt and rubber mat on a sheet and cut it to fit... If I bitumen the floor to protect it, does it smell bad? I need to use the SJ quite soon after doing it.

Re: SU carb question
I think Twiss meant HIF 38... Did it make a big difference? The stock carb is working fine at the moment, is it worth changing to an SU?Pugsley wrote:Think you will find that the HIF 44 is too much for a 410 - when I had mine I used a HIF 38 with the standard air box.

Re: Painting the floor
Chassis paint? I've just bought a tin of black and a tin of green so I can paint the floor and chassis black and my suspension components green... I made my own carpets in my old SJ out of black heavy duty carpet, and used waterproof carpet underlay as sound proofing, worked a treat! Kept it nice a...

Re: SU carb question
tbh the main improvement of the SU is that the HIF44 is much more reliable than the carb fitted to 1.3 SJs. As the 410 carb is working I might save myself the hassle and keep it, they are pretty good carbs anyway Yes, it's working fine... Maybe i will just fit an air box for now.... and see how it is

Re: SU carb question
Nice one... thank you! I shall check that out. I have been looking for an air box, but I am thinking I should go for an SU if I am messing about with it.

SU carb question
Hi... Quick question... If I fit an SU carb in my SJ410... Do I use the standard air box with it?

Re: Painting the floor
Yeah... unfortunately someone has tried to get it off and got bored! The front is Ok... it's just the back which is kind of a mess... I might have to actually do some hard work...
Can you paint onto it then?
