Re: [Witty Title] '95 SJ413 rescue

Spent most of today hard at work on building that lean-to so I've somewhere to store the SJ, the SV, and all my tools. Sally came out and looked at it earlier and said she thought it'd be finished by now, what was taking so long? IMG_0588.jpeg Baby steps, I've been working 6 days a week for a...

Previous owner had, it seems, an unlimited supply of "Scotchlock" fittings which he used wherever possible.

I think our SJs might have been owned by the same person at some point... :hmm:

Re: [Witty Title] '95 SJ413 rescue

Managed a few hours before it got dark this afternoon. I finally got a tachometer noise filter delivered from a 'breaking' listing on ebay, I've been chasing it for weeks. old vs new. Ol' mate Dave had added a scotchlock into one of the wires so I just cut and joined all 3 with decent crimp connecto...

Re: [Witty Title] '95 SJ413 rescue

Not much to report this week, other than that I had a delivery of parts courtesy of ScottieJ, top notch fella :salute: I've been messing around trying to relocate all my tools and workbench home from work, to the considerable distress of the missus. However, I did manage to pull the gearstick tower ...

Re: [Witty Title] '95 SJ413 rescue

@stimpy I'm in Bideford, North Devon. To be honest I'm not sure quite what's supposed to happen with that fuel pressure regulator, should excess fuel be returning to the tank the whole time the pump is running? Or is that a modern injection system thing, or am I talking out of my arse? Answers on a ...

Re: [Witty Title] '95 SJ413 rescue

HOW DID HE EVEN MANAGE TO F*** UP THE CLOCK WIRING?!? IMG_0417.JPEG While we're at it, and in the absence of a fuel pressure gauge, I'm not getting anything out of either side of the fuel pressure regulator or any of the hoses, engine on or off, at all. IMG_0418.JPEG Also, the coil was not t...

Re: [Witty Title] '95 SJ413 rescue

Scotchlocks are always a worry!!!.... Hey, which place are you buying your bits from India from?. I'd heard conflicting views on the locks and bits - how's yours?? My LWB could certainly do with new locks if I ever get to it!.... This was the ebay item I ordered https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/375148034...

Re: [Witty Title] '95 SJ413 rescue

Thanks, I'll see if the coil makes any difference and go from there. I was considering a fuel pressure gauge and fitting another filter. As for things that have actually happened, the car's at home now so working on it in the dark and the cold is the order of the day until I can rustle up some sort ...

Re: [Witty Title] '95 SJ413 rescue

Nothing interesting to report today, other than a new set of HT leads did not cure the problem. I've decided to fire the parts cannon and ordered a new Lucas ignition coil for £35 as the more I think about it, the more it sounds/feels like an on/off electrical problem. We shall see. The car's at hom...
