Re: vitara carburetor plumbing
Yea, that is pretty confusing! Unfortunately I have one more problem. ( I promise I'm sure it's the last one!) the engine now starts and runs fine for about 5 seconds, then the revs drop and it dies unless you throttle it. So basically it won't idle right. I'm guessing something to do with auto chok...

Re: vitara carburetor plumbing
Cool, I guess that's what I will have to do.
As for the fuel lines I can't find anything anywhere, so I'm going to take an educated guess and say the lowest pipe will go into the float chamber and be direct feed from the pump. Sound about right?

vitara carburetor plumbing
Hey guys me again. Just gone and bought a standard vitara carburettor for my 1.6 8v. Fitted it to the engine but I'm a bit stuck on the fuel lines as the fuel pump I took the carb off is slightly different to mine. They both have 3 pipes coming out and I know what they all do. but I don't know what ...

Re: Suzuki Swift intermittent starting problem.
Before you buy any parts you need to do a few checks. Engines need 3 things to run. Fuel, ignition, compression. Check these things are all present.
I had a similar problem once and it was a knackered coil.
If it is the fuel pump I'm sure you can get one somewhere for under a hundred quid.

Re: converting to injection help please.
Thanks mate, I'm looking into every option and like you say carburettor would definitely be a million times easier. It depends on what is easiest for me to get a hold of really. I do like the idea of single point injection.
