Dave Adams

Long shot I know, but I'm looking for someone called Dave Adams, most likely from the Kent area, but not absolutely sure, nothing sinister just would like some info on a Sammy he built, a nice little thing as it happens, just trying to save myself some time, any help would be greatly appreciated, a ...

Power steering

I'm going to be fitting power steering to my Sammy, I'll be using a Jimny steering box, but as the Sammy is a G13B engine, I'm guessing that the whole early Jimny set up will be a pretty straight forward fit and simpler than converting Vit pipes, or are they pretty much the same, I've already done t...

Steering bar

Can anyone tell me if there is a difference in size (length) of the main steering bar (axle to axle) on an SJ413 and a Samurai, or are they the same lenghth and just the SJ410 shorter.

Auxillary power socket

Leccy really isn't my thing, but I'd like to know how to wire an extra 12v outlet into my SJ, can I just piggy back the wires on the cig lighter or would there be a better way, just want a spare socket for mini compressor etc. in the back. Do I need to use a relay or fuse it etc.

Re: copper less mig welding wire

Those welds are artwork, it's saying something when that level of skill can be improved on just by a component in the wire.

I was awestruck at your Vit chassis build.

Rear Discs

I'm going to fit rear discs to my SJ, I'm not using the MZ kit, I'm using all SJ spares and have everything to do the job, BUT, I don't really want to have to splash out on an X eng transmission disc. So I was wondering, has anyone else used any kind of rear calipers with a handbrake lug that will f...

Re: re power steering for samurai

The shafts on the Vit and SJ alternator are different, so the pulleys won't swap over, you could use a Vit alt though. And the water pump pulley is smaller than the outer pulley on the Vit double pulley, so if you welded one of those to an SJ bottom pulley, the belt would be slack if you used a Vit ...

Re: re power steering for samurai

When you say top and bottom pulley Henry, I suppose you mean the double pulley, which is the bottom pulley and not the top cam pulley. Splitting a bottom pulley is not a straight forward job, you need to apply plenty of heat to loosen the rubber joint, then hammer the centre piece out, once the cent...
