Is there any chance you accidentally fitted the clutch disc in backwards?
Also worth pulling the disc off and checking the splines are sliding freely onto the gearbox input shaft.

Is the release bearing fully seated on the input of the gearbox?

Does the carb clear with the vacuum takeoff spacer removed? You need to remove that spacer anyway as the vacuum takeoff is on the wrong side of the butterfly with that fitted. The body needs a small amount of clearancing but it just bolts straight onto the chassis.

Don’t forget you also need to shorten the steering column, you will need a press.
