well I though I would start a build thread, it's more an adaptation or mod bud never mind

I bought my truck some 6 months ago, on eBay, and have bbeen loving it ever since, use it most days and most weekends, however a badly done spoa mean the springs are like s's the z arm is an abomination, the shocks are done, and pretty much every bush is worn out, the exhaust is held together with 2 box wraps, the the windscreen has a massive ccrack right in zone a.

oh and the mot runs out next week

so, what is iin store, well a large makeover

I want to keep the lift at about 4" front and rear, I am not going to get larger tyres, so dont need to go that tall, but i want to go SPUA as suzuki intended

I also want to make it more like a comp safari truck in terms of suspension, and give it better road holding

long term plans are to have it supercharged, running about 130bhp, and be able to hit the table top speed ramps at around 50 with no problems.

anyway, the list of parts (sorry it was dark, cold and there was an old ford in the way) but will get some more and leave you with one pic

to go on the truck are

Jimny PAS box
New Windscreen
New exhaust manifold (something called a janspeed? )
+2" procomp es9000 shocks,
calmini shackle reversal
Ironman front 2" springs
will have a rear disc conversion, along with a sammy transfer box and some 3" lift springs when i pick them up too

I cant wait, going to get started at the weekend, first step front suspension

Cool, mines in a 1000 bits at the moment, still trying to find time to spray it. Saying that, do you recon you could post some pics of the profile of the rear tub sides, I found some one to make some for me but struggling to find a profile to copy to get it to look right.

I've got to do all the bushes, shocks ect to mine, gona take some time but I'll get here.

One way to get 130bhp would be to convert it to quad gsxr carbs using a gecko manifold http://geckocycles.com/samurai_products.htm" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;, some mild porting and a good exhaust header.

No need for a super charger that way

What size are your tyres? I think you should be fine fitting them with your chosen set up spua, only problem might be is that with shackle reverse these tyres move towards the bulkhead under compression so a small amount of trimming might be needed. Scottie, its funny you mention the carbs, 2 and a half years ago (my last SJ called project mk3) I made an inlet fanny mold out of steel, it had the water channels and a yamaha R1 remote thermostat, but sadly, it got sold when i got rid of all my SJ bits.



I just want to supercharge something, i love the sound of a blower, and the torque should help off road.

I did want to do it on a 16v engine with the fuel injection, but i will never be able to afford that, and my current 1.6 is a sweet lump, might get another head and port/polish it.

The tyres are 235/75/15 cooper discoverer SST muds (first molds as i like to call them) and yes i did hear, and wont be cutting anything on the cab, i have done so well not to drill anything or cut anything on the main cab, and so far, it has worked, even managed to fit some LED working lights without drilling holes (pics later)

as for the exhaust, i have a janspeed manifold my garage, should help the 1.6 breathe over the standard 1.3 setup

and with regards to the screen, yeah that i am not looking forward to that, at least the replacement i have is out already, just the putting it in that will be a laugh

Is that the wheel on the left?

The one on the right is fit for the bin, but the boss is good, and i have a simular wheel with a mk1 cortina boss in the garage somewhere so will make a good one up, only issue is the hooter, as mine is a jap built, its in the wheel
