limiting the steering stops

Right Ho, I'm contemplating dropping my SJ in for an mot (£20 at my local center with free retest), one thing I know that will stop it from passing is that the drivers side wheel rubs against the spring when on full lock. I'm sure it has been mentioned that you can limit the steering to stop things like this happening, unfortunately I can't find any threads on how to do this, is it done on the hubs or on the steering box? And how is it done?

I've always assumed it's limited by the
steering box??????????
Would moving the pitman arm around by a spline sort it (this would add extra travel the other way though !!)
How long has it been like this then or have you fitted some bigger rubber

Just put a washer on one of the bolts that holds the felts on the swivel hub so it hits the axle casing. Jack it up and lock the steering and you will see which one is best suited.

I guess that would work and keep the MOT man happy
Does the
steering box limit the travel and stop this normally though

That bolt on both sides is what normally limits travel, if you turn yours to full lock you will see

Well sooner rather than later, its always easier to get stuff done when you can drive it to the garage and back - I'm just going to pay someone to weld it up. My other thoughts on the matter are that if my time with manual cars is limited (due to wonky leg) I want to make the most of my favourite manual car whilst I still can! Also if this POTM Is going to be a regular thing in going to need a road legal SJ to get some fresh content!

I had a brief catch up on the leg thread when i got back into the forum. Didn't realise how long term it was going to be.
Be sound if you got it back on the road. I quite fancy some pay and play and laning in yorkshire.
Personally i'm waiting for "most Zukz in one photo" to be the theme. Think i've got a couple of possible winners. Lol.
Fingers crossed it goes through ok.
