Wheels for GV

Post by Leelo » Wed Jan 21, 2015 5:27 pm

This may sound like real newbie question (cos I am!) but will wheels from other suzukis fit my 2002 grand vitara?

Depends on what GV.

The bigger heavier more powerful ones have bigger front brakes. Only wheels from other GVs fit as they are made to be a very tight fit.

I tried to find some to replace the steels on our 2L LWB. Had to sell a set of Suzuki 16s on as they wouldn't clear the calipers. Ended up with a set of alloys from a V6 model.

Some aftermarket 16s will fit if you use spacers but its a bit hit and miss and that also depends if you are happy using spacers or not. I wasn't.

If your GV is only a 1600 im pretty sure they have the smaller calipers so you can fit 15" wheels.

Just read your welcome post and realised its a LWB 2L.

Its either alloys from another GV or Weller style steels on 32mm spacers I'm afraid.

You might get lucky and find some alternatives bit they are hard to come by and hit and miss regarding the caliper clearance.

Here's the difference some alloys from another GV and some slightly larger tyres made for us.

https://www.4x4tyres.co.uk/grand-vitara ... -3913.html Are these ok?

Failing that, anybody know anywhere I can get my steel rims refurbished for a decent price?

They won't clear the brakes without wheel spacers.

Quick hijack and question, would those wheels fit a GV1600 or would they stick out too far being et0?
