Can someone please tell me, what alternative carburetor to put on a Suzuki Vitara 1.6 8v?

Can swap to SU HIF 44 but the manifold requires modding (about £125).
The same weber as the 1.3 SJ fits or there is a variety of carbs off late 80s early 90s jap motors that fit.
Subaru justy, daihatsu charade, hyundai pony.
Most reliable and popular seems to be the SU.

where to get SU HIF 44? does it need adaptor plate to be put on?

Off ebay, quite rare in scrap yards.
It requires either an elbow adaptor or the manifold modifying to fit.
