Vitara miles per gallon??
So have recently bought a vitara project and am currently getting around 150-160 miles out of a tank of unleaded. Does this sound about right or am I burning to much fuel?? If it is low does anyone have any advice on how I can go about improving this!? I realised that the way I drive has an impact but I'm not exactly ragging it around as its just not that kinda car! Lol
Re: Vitara miles per gallon??
how many gallons in a tank? ... to me seem high fuel consumption in my GV I get 30 mpg in winter and 35 in summer 340 - 400 miles a tank normally on A roads

I get about 30mpg on a run 32-33mpg which i find is good for V6 albeit if i turn the wick up abit with the right foot by gunning it away from the traffic lights it will drop down to under 20mpg.

Re: Vitara miles per gallon??
95 zuk, it's about £35 to fill the tank so around a 30 litre tank. And donkey chomp mines running at around 23 mpg. Looking and asking around it seems that everyone is different so I'm guessing that the setup people run is a big factor in it. My wheels are 9.5" x 30" and I'm sure that's gotta influence it. I've whacked an extra half a bar of pressure to the tyres and it doesn't feel as though it drags as much but that may just be my imagination!!

Re: Vitara miles per gallon??
As i have new tyres on mine,i may try adding a few extra psi say upto 26psi from 23psi as in the handbook, when i 1st got this truck about a year back it did not like any increase.
In any other set of wheels that i have owned i have always run slightly higher pressures which cuts the rolling resistance down hence gained a better fuel economy.

Mine are up at 33psi or 2.3 bar. They were between 1.7-1.9 bar. So will have to keep an eye on the mileage over the next week or so. I'm gonna have to invest in a new tyre pump as the head broke of mine. What sort of pressures do you guys run when off-road??
