Re: Samurai Remodelling
Finally sourced some rear wheel arches. I think given all the HGV bits i've used its now more of a truck.
Also managed to get number plates and some small lights for indicators / sidelights to go on the front.

Re: Samurai Remodelling
You could drop an artic-trailer hitch on the trayback for a laugh.
There's three ways of doing things:
The right way,
The wrong way
And my way, which is like the wrong way but faster.

Re: Samurai Remodelling
I've bolted the rear wings in place now to see how it's all gonna look. I'm quite pleased with them just need some longer bolts to hold the number plate on. I think we may even be ready for some sealer / filler / underseal / primer / paint now. All the major holes are plated, all the sharp edges are covered, roll on june 12th.

Re: Samurai Remodelling
Been busy this weekend. Finally got round to making an air intake, just needs a snorkel / air filter fitting now. Used an old piece of exhaust pipe and some plate.
Using some left over fuel pipe ive wrapped the manifold to try and prevent icing, at a later date I will most likely try and make a more effective jacket.
Also have shiney new brake discs.

Re: Samurai Remodelling
It now looks even more complete with 2 doors and a bonnet actually bolted to it.
Thought id update all of that whilst the filler was going off.
Eventually managed to weld the front bumper on and fit the front number plate and lights as out of thw way as possible. They also fill the big gap between bumper and grill.

Re: Samurai Remodelling
Seen as i will most likely be away all week and wont get any more time to tinker before MOT i gave it a once over on sunday night.
It has a full set of lights all wired in and working but requires 1 bulb.
Brand new discs, pads, shoes, rear pistons and a handbrake cable.
All holes in the floor pan hav been plated and sills welded in.
Sharp edges have either been edged with 4mm rod or filled.
Front and rear bumpers are fitted and the edges all smoothed.
Wing mirrors and seat belts fitted.
Wipers and screen wash and horn done.
New battery.
Carb is running sweet but no air filter yet.
I dont know if im excited or nervous but hopefully the MOT will be gentle and let me adjust minor things as he goes.
Anything missing there?

Re: Samurai Remodelling
looking good, can i still see the anti roll bar on the front? It may be worth taking it off to get better articulation, mot wise if it should have one it should be fitted, but 410/413's never had them fitted, so in theory if you take the arb off and cut off the mounting 'nut' (really its a length of threaded tube) no one would know any different, especially if you give it a fresh lick of paint,
I have to ask, did you get your rough country steering damper from llama 4x4?
cheers
Luke

Re: Samurai Remodelling
I may take it off after the MOT just havnt had time with all the other issues to sort.
Yeah, did quite a bit of shopping with llama. Front shocks, steering damper and all 5 brake hoses +2". Service was spot on. As my springs are not in the best of shape may do AAL too. As im fairly sure standard shocks will be fine. Id b very surprised if ad a leaf gave me more than 1" over standard. my springs arent shagged but hav seen better days.
