If its on a carb 99% its an 8v. As far as i'm aware the 16v have it on the covers.

The 8v injection and carb engines are almost identical. Easiest way to tell if it was SPi or carb originally, does it have a mechanica fuel pump?

Sounds like an 8v SPi converted to carb.

Black rocker cover with a breather to the PCV valve and another breather that would normally go to the airbox.

Has it still got the petrol tank with the built in fuel pump? If so would you trade it for a standard one and cash your way? The built in pump is high pressure and you need a low pressure pump for the SU carb.
