On the radio front, I just have a 3.5mm audio jack going straight to a speaker amp. Nice and simple and means you can connect phones, laptops, mp3 players, ipods etc.
There's three ways of doing things:

The right way,
The wrong way
And my way, which is like the wrong way but faster.

No comments on the bit about 'by about 80 it's fine again' :lol: :lol:
Just checking if anyone's paying attention - i think i touched 60 once, that isn't where it belongs.
The KYBs must be worth a go, will do.

p.s. thanks Andy, I will have a good look at steering joinery before assuming anything (is it Ok to call it joinery?)

Would't want anyone thinking my SJ was a shiny plaything (not that shiny anyway- must get that sill trim back on). 2 very big tables off to Spitalfields. Quite a normal day for the SJ and well up to it, including some really bad London traffic!!
Transfer box going in any day now, and will have a close look at steering at the same time.
[That's Matt's bikini top... v handy for throwing stuff in the back.]

No News since April... rubbish!! Where I'm up to:
- my SJ works for its living and has been very good to me indeed. Done around 5k since I got it early '14, mix of shorter and mid-distance (London round-trip a common one). Got the rebuilt Tbox in (from Rockwatt) and that gets rid of most of the noise. There is a little still at low-ish revs pulling (say 1500, 3rd or 4th). Maybe gearbox? - not a problem, just not ace. I wish there was a knowledgable owner nearby could take it round the block and judge.
Next up: steering/hub rebuild - bearings and seals etc, check freewheel hubs as I am suspicious there's nowt inside. While in there will check discs, calipers etc - might as well.
Just ordered a Bestop bikini - I fancy a bit of strapless and the bikini top lives on it.
Got all paints to repaint original wheels and plan a set of Yokohamas (195/80/15) as I mostly do road and the odd track, field.
Next up might be suspension - new springs and dampers.
Need to do something about seats - driver's is tatty, have one mint Maruti seat but want a matching pair.
Would like a full width front bumper without those nasty plastic ends - a 413 pre-Sami one??
Need to sort Suz badge on tailgate, and an oil change v soon - i plan a change every 5 or 6 to be reasonably safe. It doesn't seem to use much oil at all, sounds sweet and the SU conversion excellent. MOT Feb so we will see about emmissions again, I shall thin it pre-test.

Great looking sami doug.

Regarding a front bumper the sami bumper is
A 413 bumper with just extra tabs and holes
For the end caps. Its to make it match the wider
Samurai arches.

Martin, I think the box was about £160 from Richard, it's standard ratios. He does a brilliant job and it arrives looking and feeling like new - and he engraves his name on it, so it's sort of art really :) Only other thing I recall was lower boot on selector lever (into the actual box), old one was split and a sod to get off anyway. Andy pointed me to a kit that included a new boot but a load of other bits are in the spares bin !

forgot, used the beefier mount bolts from Llama - not that mine has a hard life but might as well.
