Hi guys,
At some point I want to tow my samurai a few miles up the road to a new workshop where hopefully I can finish the project. It doesn't have an engine in but the gearbox is present. Will this cause a problem when towing it? Is the gearbox going to want to spin or jump about or will the one gearbox mount hold it ok?
Thanks for the help guys.
Joe.

Re: Towing without an engine?
I would add some extra support or wedge it up to the transmission tunnel by putting something under the brace beneath it.
There's a few different views in flat towing regarding the transfer box but I would just leave it in 2wd and leave the gearbox in neutral if you are only going just up the road.

To be honest I would just remove the gearbox and chuck it in the car.... its only a couple of bolts and wont be difficult with the engine already out
