Won't save settings

Post by cheddar-caveman » Tue May 31, 2016 7:14 pm

Got a small problem with my new Vitara SZ-T music system. It sounds very bassy so I went into settings and pushed the bass down to -7 and it sounded much better. However, as soon as I turn off the ignition and then on again, this setting returns to factory set "0"! Very annoying so am trying to discover whether this is a software glitch or something else.
Anybody else noticed this please?

You are probably missing the permanent live connection. You need a permanent supply from the battery connected to the radio (usually a yellow wire). Sometimes when people wire in stereos they connect the ignition live (red) and the permanent (yellow) both to the ignition, then every time the power cuts the memory is wiped.
I'm not familiar to the Vit SZ-T, is it a factory fitted radio? If it is, I would check the fuse for the interior light, stereo and cigarette lighter.
They usually fuse all the interior equipment on the same one.

Thanks for that but I haven't "wired" anything, this is a brand new Vitara SZ-T. Yes it is a touch screen module in the centre of the dash for "Listening" radio and the like, SatNav, phone and other things. The "settings" are in the listening screen where you can change all aspects of listening such as balance, fade and of course the bass/treble settings which I am referring to.

Did you check the fuses?

Being such a new model I would suspect software issues. I'm afraid I know next to nothing about the new Vitara.
