the one Im using is a fairly decent belt grinder its just the 4'' wide platen that annoys me, also the bench grinders with belts are rarely more than 1hp and with some of the steels im using i such as old thick rasps/files need atleast 2hp just to stop the belt from slowing down when applying serious pressure, ofcourse annealing is an option but files are so well hardened i like to preserve that if i can , my one will do for now....sadly hahatwiss wrote:Also, you can get a cheap bench grinder with a belt on ebay for about £50. Got to be better than nothing

Handle all shaped just need to lightly sand back all the dark grime out of the wood from my mucky hands, then give it a coat of linseed oil to keep in the red colours

That's great that, fantastic work! I like the grime in the handle too, it matches the steel which is quite moody and dark, brilliant, you should be proud of it,
Haha, maybe stabbing was the wrong word, maybe a should have said it would be better for piercing whatever you want to cut!SlimGrim wrote:haha i have no stabbing agenda's, its more of a visuals thing,
