Swapping over front bases
Swapping over front bases
Hi, any reason I couldn't swap just the front seat bases (i.e. the bits you sit on) over? Not the frames or sliders, just the sitty on bit? My drivers side one is worn out but the passenger side is good so if I could swap them over that would be handy! Means I could still drive the car and get the other one repaired.
Re: Swapping over front bases
If it's an SJ then they have completely different mounts on each side normally so you won't be able to.

I had the same problem, in the end I replaced both front seats from a slightly later model.Eltoon wrote:Hi, any reason I couldn't swap just the front seat bases (i.e. the bits you sit on) over? A couple of years ago, SJ seats were coming up regularly on eBay, now, hardly ever.

If you replace both, save the good one! makes a great 'puter chair, just fix to a cheapo base
