Evening guys and gals,
So I have an SJ410 that I am soooo close to finishing and I have just discovered that the chrome on the swivels is knackered.
Anyone got a suggestion/solution? I have found a chrome plater that can do them for £260+ VAT Plus carriage... which is more than I hopped to spend.
Thanks in advance

Re: HELLLLP Front axle issues... specifically the lack of ch
I'm pretty sure the swivels on SJ axles aren't chromed to start with, the swivel housing contains grease in zukes axles rather than oil like in landrover axles so the sealing surface isn't as important,

What he says ^^^^ rusty swivels are normal and not really an issue on SJs

this is good news. There was a trace of a shiny surface behind the king pins which is why I had assumed they were. Though the surface seems a bit pitted and rough. is this a over looked issue or just zap the flap disk over it?
thanks for the reply guys.

I wouldn't flap disc them at the risk of taking material off, either a poly abrasive disc or just clean them up by hand. If there's any major pitting you can always fill them.
