Clutch/Gbox probs.
At last clutch sorted. Had probs with gear change, difficult to get into gear, at first suspected clutch disc, or even worse gearbox. Did the usual, got some quotes for the clutch replacement. certainly not cheap, so decided to wait until the Christmas break and head down to Yorkshire and let my son do the job. Only around £150 for clutch kit. To cut the story short decided to check around Ebay for slave and master cylinder just in case they were the problem as fluid was black after a few days of being changed. Got both for under £50, a mornings work (skinned knuckles etc), now all working perfectly. Big sigh of relief. And didn't cost too many beer tokens.

Nice to have an update on past problems, so, you didn't actually have to change the clutch itself after all?

Nope, Mate, kinda relieved on that one. should have realised, when fluid turned black after just a few days. when I checked the old master cyl, the seal was on its way out. Fitting wise, slave cyl no problem, but master linda fiddly to say the least.
