Not everyone has a Suzuki for off-roading, some people just like them.

He loves offroading, he's just afraid he'll damage his new baby
slowly bringing him round to the idea, starting off with green lanes, he'll be wading through rivers in no time haha

Maybe a less road bias tyre would be a good choice then, those tyres are going to be next to useless on a muddy green lane.

I think we'll probably have to start out with gravel based lanes and such for now, he'll get some AT ones at some point I'm sure

I would still go straight for ATs, it's a bit of a waste of money to fit some tyres that you will just change later on. ATs handle well on road, TBH even most modern MTs handle well on road.

Checkout the Goodyear Wrangler AT/SA, fitted them on the front, and they perform well on the road, and in the sticky stuff!
