Diesel Engine

Post by Highlander » Fri Nov 25, 2016 11:26 am

I've got an SJ tintop I'd like to put a diesel engine into.

I know the Peugeot 1.9 and the Isuzu engines have been done but I'm really just looking for something small and simple, not even really looking for a turbo engine, don't need the torque and power of these larger engines, really just something reasonably light that will move me around.

The older and simpler the better really.

Anyone done or heard of anything like that?

Am I right in thinking the 106/Saxo 1.5 diesel would fit?

What is the aim for this build? There's not really such a thing as a small and light, simple and easy to fit diesel, they all need quite a bit of work. Plus anything that small isn't going to be great, even n/a 1.9 diesels are pretty gutless in an Sj.
