just advice needed please

Hi just got wife , Jimny mode 04 reg 18k on clock had a bargain , flew through mot , but her indoors not happy , says gears not smooth ,hard to get , I drove it yes not a BMW but gets all gears no noise ect , she also has MX5 and newish VW beetle , is she expecting too much from this Jimny box , apparently last owner had clutch :D change 500 miles ago , THANK YOU for reading.

:welcome: It's a 4x4, not a car so it's just how they are with the longer throw on the gearstick.

Thanks Scottie , yes she spoilt with other motors , but I chuffed with this , 04 , 1 old dear owner all history 18k genuine miles , she asked me for £500 , I snapped her bloody hand off. :D

Bloody hell that's cheap!

Gears are a bit strange on them, I advised my Mrs to always knock into neutral and then shift into gear, not just 1st to 2nd, but 1st, Neutral, 2nd....

That's odd.....can't you just teach her how to change gear properly :lol:

The linkages can wear on the jimny boxes so might be worth checking that out.

Haha, my Corsa would happily straight shift into different gears, but the Jimny prefers going into Neutral and into the next!

Seroiusly :shock: Show me where these people are - I need one like that :welcome:

PS: When someone sells you a great motor for such a rock bottom price it is just bad form to break their hand off, poor love was just being kind :hahaha:
