I had a hell of trouble getting cylinders
For my kja, every one that can in was shorter width wise.

On the shoes you had to modify did you have to trim Down the part that goes against the cylinder?

Nightmare mate , he said there were that many and half of them carnt get no more , yes thats exactly what i had to do just got the grinder on them n cut them down abit otherwise couldnt get the drum on ,
, the overall length of the cylinder is 4 inches and the length of the casting is just over 2 1/2 inches

yep, been there.

if i remember correctly the longer casting is something like 64mm and the shorter one is 54mm,
so the shoes you can get easily that require grinding down would fit with the smaller cylinders.
but the avalibility is an issue now.

looking up on the parts system at work, blueprints cyclinders are

ADK84416 is the non bleed nipple
ADK84421 is the bleed nipple side

bit this doesnt tell you the body length.

let me have a look in my stash of old sj crap and i see if i still have the cylinders from my old one.
ive got a brand new one somewhere, but what side it is i cant remember.

:hahaha: This can't be trusted for SJs there's too much variation. If I get stuff from motor factors I go in armed with actual part numbers as they are useless otherwise

There's certain things its ok for i.e. the parts that are always the same on every model

sjs are a nightmare for parts, i always thought it was the fact mine was a KJA that was the issue, but the jap sjs seemed to use different cylinders for no reason i can seen. the spanish ones use two or three different ones.
