The 410 is the same apart from - 4 speed gearbox capacity is 1L.

Is the 410 5 speed still 1L of oil?

Odd when I eased off the filler pug on the diff fluid started to run out.As it was the front and my parking space is a little downhill, thought I try the rear on level ground,but the same,daft question but how can there be fluid above the filler level?

Easy it's not been filled on level ground. Tbh even if it is it's easy to overfill and get the bung in before that much runs out, I often give it a quick extra spurt of oil and then put the bung in.

No sign of anything else but fluid,I'm sure I read somewhere it shouldn't be "over filled".Should I take out the plug until it stops running or just leave it as it is? I've had the car two years and it doesn't appear to have made any problems.

Slightly over filled won't hurt at all, in fact it will help keep the diff cooler. It would take a LOT of fluid to really over fill a diff as you would have to fill the entire axle tubes first and it would all be leaking past the half shaft oil seals :lol:

If the oil looks good then just leave it as it is.
