Carpet and vinyl flooring question

Was it an option to have carpet in Samurai's?

Sometimes they have the grey coarse carpet and sometimes the grey vinyl. But it does not seem to be year related.

I had the grey carpet in my sammy
Sid James gone but never forgotten
Jimny 1.6 not as good as an SJ but still good
