Temp guage

Hello everyone I'm new to the Vitara I've just purchased a 2009 2.0 Vitara and just noticed that the temp gauge is only moving up about a quarter of the way even after a good run is this normal or a fault. Thanks

suzuki gauges do quite often only sit around 1/4 of the way up at normal running temperature, however it might be worth checking that the thermostat hasn't been removed by a previous owner and that it's opening at the correct temp.
