Vitara Engine Bay Paint Code ??

Post by maxaret » Sun May 17, 2020 10:36 am

I would like to try tidying up some of the underbonnet/inner wing paint/corrosion.
It is a flat/matt lightish blue/grey colour and I was just wondering if anybody has a paint code for it please ?
You can clearly see the corroded patches especially on the N/S inner wing.

If you want an exact duplicate call Suzuki UK and tell them your reg number, they'll tell you the paint name and code.
If it ticks over...leave it

Thanks DC - sorry late reply, weather has been nice and we have been doing some long riverside walks (ooh my poor old ankles/knees ! )

Would Suzuki UK actually respond to a paint question related to a 15 year old car colour ?
Ours is the 2 tone Blue/Silver and I am not sure I ever found out a paint code for the Silver paint,I will have to check my notes LOL

I mean if you can call suzuki with a 30 year old reg number and get parts im sure they will be able to give you a paint code for a 15 year old car :D

It's funny Tim - I have owned lots of wildly different vehicles since 1971 and I have never contacted any manufacturers  .
When I was working - I could just ask questions around the various departments and friends (we were always messing around with bikes and cars) - but of course in the last 15 years one can usually find out most things via Internet/Forums etc.
I will have to have a look at the Paint Code Plate again to see if I can glean any more info from it,it is almost 12 months since I had a look at it.
It would appear to be a fairly standard colour for engine bays - regardless of body colour.

cheers/rgds max

Hello, are you sure we can see the corroded patches in particular?

Hi F39
Yes the corroded area is in front of the Battery/around the suspension mounting,it is a bit bigger than it looks from the photo as some of it is hidden by the coolant expansion/header tank bottle.

I had some free time today so looking in to this again.
I found this Aussie website with lots of Paint Code Info...

https://www.uniquecarsandparts.com.au/c ... uzuki_2004

The closest I can see is Suzuki Medium Grey (OFM) in the underhood colour section.
It is not listed for my colour code (Z2U) but I guess the Aussie colour combinations might be slightly different.
