Shiny dashboard vs Sunny day.

Post by Alboy » Sun Apr 25, 2021 4:40 pm

I love my new Vitara, but I have one gripe. It was mentioned in one online review that the Silver Chequered Dot dashboard trim can be very reflective in sunlight especially with the sunroof open. 8-). This is the case as my wife has to cover the panel with a towel or magazine when it's sunny. I have looked at the Suzuki accessory page and seen these can be replaced at a round £170 + vat + fitting, but I'm not sure if the coloured ones are equally as reflective.

Anyone else suffering? Is there a cheaper work round without using a towel? Or just drive it on cloudy days. ;)

Thanks.

Sounds a little nasty.
There is a lot to be said for a 'dark cockpit' concept with no reflective surfaces.
I cannot offer any advice other than invest in some good sunglasses 8-)

I think if it's distracting to the point you have to cover it up then it's a design flaw. I would try and push them to replace it with the coloured version for free. Sorry I can't be of any more help than that!
