Grand Vitara not starting

Hi everyone , I have Grand vitara not starting 06 plate. Battery is good, have a whirring sound when trying to start , engine not turning over. Any advice or ideas please ? Thank you

A whirring like the starter is spinning but not engaging with the flywheel?

Sounds like the bendix on the starter has packed up. It’s probably time for a new starter motor.
