Hi All and Greetings from Christchurch New Zealand. Meet Peggy my first SJ413.
Purchased a month ago as a project for myself. I intended to take her back to 1987 factory spec or as close as I can get.
Shes a Japanese built unit that's been in NZ since the 90s. I'm the 18th owner!!!

She's had a hard life by the looks of her but thanks to the climate here, rust is minimal in the body and the chassis is perfect.
She came with a 1600 8 valve motor of unknown condition partly disassembled. I purchased a spare 1300 with gearbox and transfer case which will all be gone through and engine rebored. Its registered as a 1.3 so the 1.6 will come out for now until she's road legal again.

Plan is a nut and bolt rebuild. trying to do it all myself at home except for the engine machining.

More photos to follow

Got her home and stripped the the body off. Chassis was stripped with a cup brush on the grinder. Still picking bristles out of my boiler suit :S
Some of the spring hanger points were worn. So tig welded some heavy washers in after hole sawing out the damaged bits.
Chassis brush painted with Dulux epoxy primer and enamel.
Big box of bits arrived from Australia last week. So assembly is now underway.
Just started re assembling the front diff.

Looking forward to seeing this build progress! Doing a nice job so far 👌 it’s such a nasty and long job wire wheeling down a chassis 😅 probably one of my least favourite jobs

Steady as she goes!
