torque settings for transfer case
Hi,
Does anyone know the torque settings for all the bolts in the transfer case and the flange nuts?
Thanks

Re: torque settings for transfer case
I know I'm going to sound like a pikey but when I've done the case bolts I've nipped them up and the flange bolt I've gone as tight as possible before center punching the edge to hold it in place.... (I've got a horrible feeling I'm thinking of a different bolt, but I'm pretty sure I center punched the large nut in the middle of the flange)
On a brighter Note Darrell will be on soon and if you ask him nicely he might check his factory service manual for you

Your quick - I imagine your a bit like superman 'someones called my name, and they need help!' I was just disappearing up the loft to get my service manual!Darrell wrote:Someone called
I'm glad I'm not the only one! I post on Smart Car forum and If you don't own a torque wrench they think you shouldn't be doing the job! In fairness I could do with one at some point but I've never felt like I've needed one It's not like I'm farting about in the engine where tolorances are critical!Jumpinjacks wrote:Thats what I was gonna do if I couldn't find out the settings tbh

Re: torque settings for transfer case
That factory service manual is a hell of alot better than my Haynes manual. Doesn't say half the stuff about T boxes in the Haynes.
