Technically that's actually an LJ...

and there were 3 different types of them... the 350cc I2 (LJ10), the 540cc I3 (LJ20+LJ50), and the 800cc I4 (LJ80)

thats just a technicality, In that case eds must be a mk1 SJ, because it was the lj80 that it replaced.....

and after all of that I managed to forget the original hopestar 360 the great grand father of all our little zuk's

No it wasn't :P

After the LJ80, there was the SJ30 (550cc/660cc, na and turbo models), then the SJ40 (a.k.a. SJ410)

Wasn't the Hopestar based on the Willys though? Along with the Series one L**d R***r? I'm pretty sure the Willys is the grandaddy of all 4x4s.

looking on wikipedia, It says the SJ10 and early SJ's were just different names for the LJ depending on the market! Thus I think Ed's SJ is the first 'true' sj :cowboy::

And I doubt you will find a hopestar, wiki said they only made 15!!!!!!!!

I would love one of those 660cc turbo'd SJ's If I won the lottery I'd have an SJ of every type! including the 6seaters! god I would love a 6 seater!!!!

Well here's a Hopestar 360, which was called the Suzuki Brute (after Suzuki bought hopestar)

1981 Suzuki SJ30

That and the 410... They do look identical, but technically they are different models... they didn't even make the SJ410 in 1981.
The started that in '82 in order to export it.
I suppose you could argue its the first European SJ...
as they never exported the SJ30s over here due to the law on how many parts had to be European.

But on the other hand you could argue that they are all Jimnys really anyway!
In Japan, LJs, SJs, Samurais, Jimnys, Vitaras... they are all Jimnys (vitara is "jimny wide")

If you want to get picky mine's not the first european one, as in fact I have front discs, not drums.
