How did you manage that . The back plate stops the bearing coming out. Has it only got the inner bearing race left on it.

I found this photo in the disk conversion writeup. I guess some models have a seperate retainer plate. Good idea, mine I had to disconnect the hoses etc. I haven't seen a manual showing this seperate retainer either
Edit - managed to find a diagram - said it was for the santana. Knew I'd find a diagram sooner or later

Some quality information there mate legend!
I did buy a wheel bearing months ago but never fitted it because i havnt got a slide hammer. Think i paid £50 odd quid for it which i thought was a bit steep.

That pic is the same as mine with the seperate retainer plate, it makes the job so much faster
