Help - my freewheeling hub is locked!
Re: Help - my freewheeling hub is locked!
you might have assembled the freewheeling hub slightly wrong, whip the outer section off and check it is all ok.
there is a clip that overlaps one of the splines, you need to make sure that this sits in one of the 'Wide' splines on the hub body.
you'll see what I mean when you take it apart, there are 2 splines that are wider than all the rest

This is the tab I was talking about and the 'splines' are the large grooves inside the hub body.
Perhaps I shouldn't call them splines? But in my eyes they're just big splines
Thats a good guide there Darrel I'm sure its something simple Hugh, follow the guide and I'm sure it'll sort it out, something is probably just in the wrong place like one of springs stopping you from turning it

Splines/teeth all the same isn't it? They both do the same job sort of
Edit:
Actually thinking about it 'teeth' as in gear teeth mesh at at one point and both gears rotate in opposite directions.
'Splines' like splines on an axle shaft mesh all the way around and both sections rotate in the same direction.
Soo I would say there are splines
