Have you checked to see if your pulling in air.
To me sounds like the new pump diahpram is buggered. Stick the old one back on

Bit of a long shot but you haven't somehow broken a wire on or dissconnected the fuel stop solenoid during the swap? I had a similar issue and all it was was the earth wire snapped
Also might be worth checking the fuel filter for blockages? Or even Stripping the carb to clean the jets?, its not that difficult, i'll try and find a write up, I used to jag some pics of my own somewhere
Mine has a green connection but some are brown. Follow the wires to wherever they go on the otherside of the connection, one wire should go to an ignition live and the other to an earth somewhere.

Re: Changed the fuel pump but theres something wrong
the green plug on the thermostat ill have a check to see if its been knocked, but the engine did run smooth since the engine was put into the anus.
As for rebuilding the carb isnt that suzuki carb an absolute pig to work at, all wee small starheads that just run the heads off when you try and open them, but ill give it a go anyhow.

Re: Changed the fuel pump but theres something wrong
hi
i noticed that a earth wire was loose, reconnected it and hey presto it ran nice.
But the problem is still about these 2 fuel pumps they are obviously both crap, its a waste of a good gasket swapping them over all the time, the one in at the moment is excreting a black fluid most likely oil. My mechanic had a look at them and said they are knackered.
Can i blank it off and put in an electric fuel pump, is the plumbing complicated most concerned about the return pipe as electric pumps seem only to have an in and an out pipe nothing for return, and do they work at the right speed?
