Springs bending the wrong way

Post by Jamie_stafford » Mon Jun 06, 2011 5:22 pm

hi all, ive just fitted my new winch (36kg and more steel) and now my springs are just starting to bend the wrong way, can i put rear springs up front to counteract it or is there another way?

What kind of springs are they? Standard ones?

Maybe get add a leaf on the front to stiffen them up...

The add a leaf kit will cost £45-50 per axle, including postage I think.

Speak to Dave at Llama 4x4 for add a leaf

My springs were pretty flat beforehand and they lifted by roughly 2"... its hard to tell though as I have roughly 1" longer shackles as well

This is the shackle on the back.... 3" lift one, terrible. had them on the front and they dig into rutts and get you stuck

Excuse the oil leak
This is the front, with the shame shackle, but cut down to a more sensible size.
The add a leaf spring is one up from the bottom of the spring pack. Its thicker and curved more.
