Can you get mud tyres for the SJ without any lift, I am now running 195/80/15
What other size can you run with stock suspension

You could do 215s, or maybe 225s but they would be very tight.

You definitely couldn't fit 235s on a stock sj...

You might be able to fit 235s if you redrill the spring perches and plates to move the axle 1" forward? maybe??????

If you're moving the axel forward, wouldn't you want to take the front bumper off, or at least trim the ends off it?

Yeah you will ... I think 235s are quite tight on the standard bumper even if the truck has a bit of lift

Yeah they are the standard size for an SJ...

215s were available as an optional extra from the factory, so they will definitely fit!

Unless it's powersliding you're after, I'd go for the slightly bigger tyres. You'll get more grip in the muddy stuff!!!
(Saying that, I can powerslide on the 235s in the wet)

I can get sideways quite easily in the wet. On roundabouts, downhill on overrun, uphill under power. I think it's because of the fact my rears are old, hard, A/T tread Dunlops, and the fronts are modern road tyres.

Ahh sorry I meant 205/70

I don't think 215/80s would be a huge amount bigger than your 195/80s. How much space do you have around the arches?
