Remember though, that's only if the dizzy has been put in in the correct position in the first place

lol thanks guys...

helped alot.. manage to narrow down a fault with the dizzy arm.... thankfully i have spares.... but in the time of fuckign about.. another small problem arose... so the timing cant be set correctly till the Carb behaves properly...

not that it matters atm.

started a new job tuesday... i work split shifts... the only time this shit box sj will get any attention will be on a sunday... as i will be working my arse off... shame.... looks lie its going into storage for awhile.

Good old timing issues. Has the same thing with mine. Put some masking tape on the leads though to make sure it was correct.

The Dizzy wasn't on quite right.

Best thing I found to do is what scottie said. Line all the timing up, put it back together hoping it is all correct.

Then if it won't quite fire, keep taking the Dizzy off (3 bolts at the back of the engine) and move it ever so slightly. It'll no doubt be only about 10-20 Deg out. Very annoying, but eventually it will work again.

Have many cups of tea ready for when you get :pissed: with it.

god im a dickhead.

right first up.. cured the timing issue.

very hard to do when the carb was playing up.

3 faults.. all at once.

dizzy car rotor arm failed.
leads failed
carb failed

sitting staring at it like a moron....

theres a spark.. theres fuel going in.......

took my mind off it.. went to see a frind.. said he had a little off raoder and was trying work what it was.
he had bought for 360 quid.. an E reg 410.. im jelous.. most of the rust had been treated.. anyways this is off topic...

i then returned to mind... promptly and without thinking removed the slide needle... and had found that a collor that sits at top of needed anf fallen down to base of jet inlet. (SU carb)

2 seconds later it ran. well. so the bitch is alive and it wasnt the fault i thought it was.. typical.

ima stick to motorbikes..

so thank you all for your help.
